Musarra Motorsport Prepares for Double Header

If recent form is anything to go by then Musarra Motorsport team driver Rick Musarra will be one to watch this weekend. As the WA Super Sedan Summer Series heads to Esperance this Friday night then to Ricks home track Kalgoorlie when he will be calling on all of his local knowledge to not only beat local drivers WA#1 Robbie Bawdon and Dean Shore but also the inform duo of Gary Higgs and son Dustin along with the rest of the state’s best.

In six rounds so far this season Rick has recorded five top five finishes and a sixth. The series started with the North West Thunda Run which saw the team compete at Broome for two nights finishing second and third and then headed to Port Hedland and Newman where a mid pack and a win was recorded. With that all done and dusted the team returned home and had a month off before the opening night at Kwinana where he battled to a sixth place.

The following weekend the team packed up and made the long haul to Collie. Starting from seventh in the feature it was also going to be a tough ask to win which was made even tougher when the all but Marc Gioncola got stuck behind Kemble Aylett for most of the race. Once Aylett had succumbed to the field Musarra would end up finishing in third.

Mount Barker was the latest venue to host a round which would in fact be the only day time ran event of the season. After winning a heat race and finishing in second the number 12 Monaro would start off pole for the 20 lap feature. Musarra lead from green to checker to claim his second round win to head into the double header in Esperance and Kalgoorlie with the points lead.

With a new car parked up in the shed Rick will be campaigning his reliable old car because he believes this is not the weekend to be trying out a new car. Having two good consistent nights is a priority for the Musarra Motorsport team so they can look at extending their points lead.

So this Friday and Saturday make sure you get to the track to cheer on the yellow number 12 Monaro of Rick Musarra.
